About the job
As our new Data Engineer, you will be part of the Data Management & Analytics Team, collaborating on designing and building data pipelines for handling incoming data from sites located all over the world. Organizing the data infrastructure, implementing tests, ensuring that data quality is at its absolute best. Monitoring and maintaining existing data infrastructure and pipelines through automation.
Key Responsibilities
In this newly created role, you’ll play a key part in shaping Cavendish’ data engineering approach. You'll have the opportunity to make important decisions around technology, architecture, and best practices.
Taking our data handling to the next level the role requires your ability to:

Building and Maintaining Robust Data Architectures:
- Design, implement, and maintain data systems that collect, store, and process data efficiently.
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of data infrastructure.

Designing Efficient Data Pipelines:
- Create data pipelines for seamless data flow from source to destination.
- Optimize pipeline performance and minimize latency.

Ensuring Data Quality and Integrity:
- Validate data quality, consistency, and accuracy.
- Implement data validation rules and error handling mechanisms.

Collaborating with Data Science and Analytics Teams:
- Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Understand requirements and deliver solutions that drive value.

Scaling Data Solutions:
- Adapt data systems to handle increasing volumes of data.
- Optimize resource utilization and performance.

Overseeing Data Security and Compliance:
- Implement security measures to protect sensitive data.
- Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and industry standards.
Skills and qualifications
To excel in this role, we expect that you possess:
- A BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
- Two to five years of experience in a related field.
- Excellent knowledge in both Python and SQL.
- Solid knowledge in data lake architectures and data warehousing principles.
- Solid Experience with RDBMS, NoSQL, and Distributed systems
- Experience with Orchestrators
- Accustomed to working with Time-Series data
- Accustomed to handling DataFrame technologies (i.e. Spark, polars, or dask).

- You are, as a person efficient, and knows the importance of quality and punctuality.
- Very systematic and structured
- Good at keeping an overview within multiple systems
- Collaborative across the organisation
- Able to manage changing priorities well
- Communicates fluently in Danish and English, verbally as well as in writing
